Q: What is DesignOurDay?
A: DesignOurDay.com is a premier services oriented website that allows couples to create their own customized wedding website. We give you thousands of options to choose from letting you put your creative stamp on your own personal wedding website. DesignOurDay wedding websites offer password protection, wedding maps/directions to events, online RSVP, guest books, your own photo album and much more.

Q: Can you tell me more about your company?
A: DesignOurDay is based in Park City, UT and was founded in January 2006. Our goal is to make spreading the word about your wedding as easy and fun as possible. Our company started after our founder, Karen Miller, struggled to get her own wedding website online. The original intention of DesignOurDay was to offer help to a handful of friends and give them an easy-to-use tool to create their own wedding websites. Since then our company has grown into a successful web-based business, offering products and services to couples getting married and companies in the wedding industry.

Q: Why would I use DesignOurDay instead of building my wedding website?
A: Building a professional-looking wedding website is hard work. Let us handle the dirty work of coding and hosting your site. You have better things to focus on with your wedding fast approaching. DesignOurDay offers you hundreds of options to easily and quickly create your own custom wedding website. We offer you the ability to completely customize your site. Features include online RSVP, password-protected events, integrated wedding maps and directions, and the ability to add a guest book to your site.

Q: Site Question - How do I put a picture of us on every page?
A: Some templates have a pre-loaded image of a couple on every page. That is the "Page Image". You can change the Page Image by clicking "Edit Website". Scroll down to the bottom and you will see an option to change the Page Image. Load an image and go back to view your site. If you don't like the image, you can simply clear that Page Image and load another.

Q: Site Question - What is the difference between a Page Image and a Header Image?
A: The Page Image is the image that shows up on every page and is typically right above the body of the text you have entered. The Header Image is the image that you can load along the top of the site that determines the look/feel of your site.

Q: Site Question - What types of pictures can I load on my site?
A: You can load any JPEG or Bitmap image (File format .JPG or .BMP). If the image is too large it may take a long time to load or you may get an error message. If this is the case, please compress your image so you can more easily load it onto your wedding website.

Q: Site Question - How do I compress pictures for my site (for Windows Users)?
A: To begin, please make sure that the picture/image is on your computer in a folder or on your desktop. Right click on the image before opening it and select the option to "Open with Microsoft Office Picture Manager." Now that the image is open, right click on the image and select "Edit." On the right, you will see some options to edit your image - select "Compress Image for Website." Now save the image as another name to your desktop or another folder so you can keep track of it. Go back into the My Account section of your site and load the compressed image. If you still have a problem, please send us an email or give us a call.

Q: Technical Question - Why am I not getting my RSVP emails?
A: Some email providers (example - AOL and Comcast) see the RSVP response as a spam and block the email. If you aren't getting your emails sent to you we recommend setting up a Yahoo or Gmail account for the RSVP email. These services don't have a problem receiving our RSVP responses.

Q: Site Question - How do I compress pictures for my site (for MAC users)?
A: Open the photo in iPhoto that you want to compress. If you are using iLife 2005 and earlier, go to the "Share" menu, then select "Export." Alternatively you can press Shift-Cmd-E all at the same time. If you are using iLife '06, you can find "Export" under the "File" dropdown menu. Select "Scale images no larger than:" and chose the number of pixels you want. Click "Export." Choose a location to save it to such as the desktop and accept or change the file name. Now load the file onto your site.

Q: Site Question - What is the Online Registry Package?
A: The Online Registry Package is designed for the couple that doesn't have enough time to build a wedding website. The online registry package is a simple one-page site that allows you to add a descriptive welcome paragraph, a photo of you and your fiancé, and add links to all of the retailers where you have registered.

Q: Site Question - How does password protection work?
A: Some people aren't comfortable having their wedding website information on the Internet or may want only certain guests to be able to view details about a particular event (i.e. Bachelor Party). When you choose to password-protect your website or a particular event, you can decide which guests receive the password.
